For conservation reasons, the fragile originals are no longer issued to researchers. This digital edition is open to researchers unless otherwise marked in the catalogue. This section contains chiefly correspondence between Louise Swanton Belloc and her close friend Adelaide de Montgolfier. Letters between Adelaide and other correspondents, which were presumably acquired by Louise after Adelaide's death, are also included here. The section is arranged broadly chronologically and includes a substantial cache of letters written to Louise by Adelaide from Paris during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71 and the Siege of Paris.
